Introduction of CEPI
The China National Export Commodities Packaging Research
Institute (CEPI) was founded in 1974 approved by
the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic
Cooperation. In 1978 authorized by the State
Council, it strengthened and enlarged the scope,
meanwhile, was approved to be the director member
of World Packaging Organization (WPO) and Asian
Packaging Federation (APF) on behalf of China. In
2005, it enters the International Association of
Packaging Research Institutes (IAPRI).
At present, CEPI is responsible for the work of
the secretariats of both China National Technical
Committee of Standardization for Packaging and the
Organizing Committee of Recommending Packaging
Design for WorldStar.
Since its foundation, CEPI has played a vital part
in the development and technological innovation of
national commodities packaging technology, as well
as in the research of sustainable development of
Packaging Industry. Its endeavors are fruitful
that some scientific and technological
achievements have been practically applied.
Meanwhile, it has recommended a lot of packaging
design works for “WorldStar”and“AsiaStar” etc ,
and won the awards for many times.
In recent years, CEPI has carried out series of
resultful work to deal with international
technical trade barriers and to establish our own
packaging technology trade measure system
regarding Standardization.
Now, CEPI is equipped with a comprehensive
packaging laboratory of complete apparatus and
facilities under the support of U.N. It is
operating as the packaging quality inspection
center of import and export commodities. The
packaging products laboratory has been approved by
the State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection
and Quarantine.
