The program is one of the core programs in IoP and a required program for world recognized packaging professionals. The Diploma in Packaging Technology is for those wishing to pursue career in the packaging industry, or for those who are already in the industry and who wish to extend their knowledge and expertise. Success in this qualification prepares students for progression in the packaging industry to position where they can assume responsibility for packaging in a company at any point in the supply chain. Success also provides the student with an entry level qualification for the MSc in Packaging Technology at the University Loughborough and Brunel University. Overall, it is expected that awards leading to the qualification will take 64 hours. In addition, students will be expected to carry out additional reading and other work. Through examination, students can also gain Diploma in Packaging Technology granted by PIABC.
